This past weekend I worked at the T-shirt store, the walls in
this store are made out of cinder blocks. And with no heat there was no chance
of getting warm.
It’s not the worst thing ever, but after several hours, I
could not stop thinking about a hot tub and being in it.
Oh Ohio you never cease to amaze even us Ohioans. Let’s just
be warm consistently already.
Sitting in the T-shirt shop, a shop I’ve worked at for the
past five years, I couldn't help but think about my future. Working in Lakeside
has been such a gift and spending five years working in this community has
given me so much. I have a desire to be a part of this community someday. I
desire to create family time that I see so much of here. This place is special.
And yet in looking at the future… I’m excited for
professional work. I’m excited for a year round job, salary, benefits….
I’m excited to be off on holidays; Memorial Day, 4th
of July, Labor Day… I’m excited to have picnics with my family and make
memories with my loved ones instead of just watching everyone else do that.
Summer work has always been very important to me. As a
student for many years, summers were my time to make money. Now that I’m a student
again, not much has changed. Summers are all about working hard, working two
jobs and surviving until the end of August.
